Punter Daniel Sepulveda has re-signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers and will compete with Jeremy Kapinos and Aaron Bates for the Steelers punting job.
Sepulveda has suffered three major knee injuries in the last couple of years and hasn’t been able to stay on the field. Kapinos is not a good NFL punter and rookie free agent Bates is an unknown. Assuming he stays healthy in training camp, Sepulveda would seem to be the odds-on favorite to win the job.
If the Steelers were tired of dealing with his injury issues, I can’t imagine the team would have brought him back in the first place. The punter position will be one of the competitions to watch during preseason.
