Steelers tickets 22% above average for matchup vs Luck & the Colts

The Pittsburgh Steelers enter Week 8 with something to prove, despite winning in Week 7 and holding a decent 4-3 mark. That’s what comes with being the Steelers, unfortunately. To the media and outside world, they’re elite or they’re terrible. Their fans won’t think or say that, though, and they certainly won’t bow down to the 5-2 Indianapolis Colts when they enter Heinz Field this week. Nor should they. Pittsburgh hasn’t played up to it’s potential on either side of the ball, but they’ve also had some tough matchups, while their defense has been ravaged by injuries. If nothing else, Week 8 represents another stiff challenge, a measuring stick and a chance for the Steelers to show they aren’t just some middle of the road club.

A visit from the Colts will be a big boost on the secondary ticket market with the average price for Pittsburgh Steelers tickets coming in at 22% above the season average. Steelers vs Indianapolis Colts tickets have an average price of $235.03 with a get-in price of $63.  The true value comes with a big win, of course. To get that done, Pittsburgh’s somewhat dormant defense is undoubtedly going to have to play one of it’s better games of 2014. Andrew Luck enters this one red hot, while the Colts as a whole boast the league’s top scoring offense and have won five straight games.

As intimidating as Indy looks on paper, though, there is a softness here that Pittsburgh could potentially expose. It’s a road game, for one, so the slightest trip up by the Colts could be enough for Ben Roethlisberger to take advantage. Further, the Steelers do have enough offensive talent to go toe to toe with the Colts, if it does come to a shootout.

Big Ben and the Steelers were all about taking advantage a week ago, when they used two turnovers to help turn a 13-0 hole into a 24-13 halftime lead. That ability to overcome adversity is what continues to drive a veteran franchise and could be exactly what they lean on again to top the Colts in Week 8.
