Ziggy Hood has been spending his offseason in Pittsburgh after the birth of his second child. He typically works out in Atlanta so this is a change for the 3rd year pro. Naturally, you’d think he might be slacking off this offseason being away from his usual summer training locale.
That’s not the case at all. Hood has been putting in work at Outer Limit Athletic Performance in Valencia, a high performance gym that many high school athletes from the Pittsburgh area have been calling home for a few years.
Outer Limit has been posting some videos of Hood’s progress and they are…quite impressive.
Hood talked to the Trib about his offseason progress:
In a four-week span in early March (during Phase I), Hood lowered his body fat from 24 to 18 percent. He lost 18 pounds of fat and gained 20 pounds of muscle, going from 305 pounds to 307.
Here are a few of the videos of the big man in action.

Hood is going to be asked to play an even bigger role in 2012-2013 with the retirements of Aaron Smith and Chris Hoke. It will be the first season where he’ll be expected to play nearly every snap. Kudos to him for being prepared.
