The Levi Brown era ended before it began today, as Brown was placed on injured reserve after getting hurt during warmups on Sunday. He was acquired from the Cardinals in a desperate effort to stop the bleeding at left tackle. Ultimately, Kelvin Beachum filled in for Brown while Mike Adams was also inactive, and the Steelers ended up winning the game anyway. Still, it's discouraging to see a guy you just brought in injured before he can even do anything.
Backup TE/FB David Johnson was also placed on injured reserve today after a short appearance in Sunday's game in New York. The two open roster spots were used on practice squad CB Isaiah Green and free agent TE Richard Gordon. In two seasons with the Raiders, Gordon has three catches and mostly played on special teams.
