Meet the newest Steeler, linebacker Ryan Shazier. This pick came totally out of the blue, as CB Darqueze Dennard (Cincinnati) and fellow linebacker CJ Mosley (Baltimore) were still on the board. Shazier is a bit undersized (his listed weight is a lie), but he has blazing speed with a 4.36 40-yard dash time. He’ll be slotted inside with Lawrence Timmons, flanked by Jason Worilds and Jarvis Jones.
This is a strange pick and we were all caught off guard. Also of note, he will wear #56 according to the Steelers, and he has no eyebrows, which is weird.
UPDATE: Shazier “suffers from alopecia, an autoimmune disorder that causes hair loss.” Well, I’m a dick who made fun of someone’s medical condition! Open mouth, insert foot.
