Steelers Finally Extend Ben Roethlisberger

The Steelers have locked up their franchise quarterback through the 2019 season, per everyone on the internet and I’m not going to bother linking a source.

After questionably handing all the money to Marcus Gilbert and Cortez Allen last summer, the Steelers did right by the team’s most important player and gave him the chance to play out the rest of his career in black and gold. The contract will run through Ben’s age 37 season, which should be about the limit given the abuse he’s endured throughout his career.

This deal was always going to get done. It was just a matter of when. Franchise quarterbacks are hard to find, and the most important position on a football team won’t be a question for the Steelers for years to come. Ben is our man, and as long as this team has Ben, this team has a chance.
