2019 Triple Crown Series Nominations: Game Winner Leads The Poll

The nomination for the Triple Crown Series this year has officially kicked off and it’s less than 60 days before the season starts. A lot of competitive horse racers sent their entries to partake this year’s prestigious horse racing showdown. Each trainer is doing their best to train their horses competitively to be able to clinch the Triple Crown this year. Apart from that, they also wanted to build a great reputation talking about building incredible credibility and integrity in the world of horse racing.

In the sea of numerous competitive entries for Triple Crown this year, Game Winner earns the highest nomination and tops the polls of the early experts picks for the Triple Crown. Game Winner is trained by the renowned horse trainer Bob Baffert who had been present in all major legs of horse racing showdown in the country. Game Winner is undefeated in the two seasons of Breeder’s Cup. He inched around 362 edges compared to other entries when the nomination took place last January 26 and closes on the same day.  Game Winner is considered to be the most qualified three-year-old thoroughbred racer to complete the Triple Crown this year. The 362 horse entries had completed a $600 payment entry to be able to join the Triple Crown Series. The Triple Crown is composed of three major legs starting off with Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes. The first leg will start of 4th of May at Churchill Downs and whoever will emerge as the favorite in Preakness and Belmont which will eventually get the Triple Crown. The entry this year is more than compared to last year which was only 360 horse racers.

Baffert’s Game Winner has a record of 4 wins and zero loss which has total earnings of an estimated $1,496 million. He is considered to be the biggest nomination of Bob Baffert which is also regarded as a Hall of Famer trainer. Baffert looks forward to Game Winner to be able to show off his awesome skills to continue his winning streak this year and emerged as the Triple Crown Winner.  Following to Game Winner as the highest nominated entry comes another Baffert trained thoroughbred horse racer which is Improbable. This horse racer is also considered to be a tough competitor of Game Winner for the Triple Crown, but according to Baffert, it would be a win-win situation for him because he trained both horses in the same way. Clearly, Baffert’s entries this year are getting the best nominations from all horse racing enthusiast if he becomes lucky, he can add another unmatched record which will surely bring his name in the history of horse racing sports. At the same time, his entries will ultimately build great credibility earning the biggest reputation of being the best horse racer in the world.

Aside from Game Winner and Improbable, there are other prominent names this year who are still considered to be great opponents of the top nominated racers. These include Mucho Gusto, Gunmetal Gray, Gray Attempt, Instagrand, Harvey Wallbanger, Mind Control, Maximus Mischief, Long Range Toddy, Knicks Go, Tax, Vecoma, Win Win Win, and Signalman. These horse racers are completing the top ten list of the highest nominations for the Triple Crown Series. Adding to the list is Coliseum, Code of Honor, Country Horse, Bourbon War, Nolo Contesto, Network Effect, Roadster, and Mucho.

Talking about the number of nominations, Steve Asmussen got the highest number of entries with a total of 27 nominations. He edged Todd Pletcher, Chad Brown, and Bob Baffert who comes ten entry shorter coming off with only 17 entries. Besides, we are only not talking male horses in the Triple Crown series but there are also fillies who will try their best to compete with the male thoroughbreds. There are four fillies who got nominated which includes the 2-year winner in Breeder’ Cup courtesy by Jaywalk.

The Triple Crown showdown this year is quite different and bigger compared to last year. It has opened its doors to overseas qualifiers. That said, there are around 20 nominations of horse racers that are based in different continents. There are 11 horses who came from Europe, 4 from Japan, and 5 entries came from Dubai. All nominated horse racers this year are looking forward to clinching the Triple Crown. Given the fact that the nominees have been champions in their respective competitions that they have joined, a lot of horse racing fans are excited to see them competing in the grandest horse racing event in the country. Surely, whoever will get the crown will surely pass a hole in the needle because the competition is tight.
